Disney California Adventure Halloween Overlay

For the 2017 Halloween season our team wanted to bring a fun and slightly spooky spirit to the main entrance, Buena Vista Street, and Carsland. I used a color scheme of greens, purples, and reds that contrasted with the warm friendly fall colors of orange and yellow used at neighboring Disneyland. The buildings themselves were transformed with ghostly hauntings created with custom gobos by graphic designer Heidi Cole and projection design by Rich Kirchhoff. The landscape and buildings glowed eerily inside and out by adding color media to existing conventional light fixtures and reprogramming the LED lighting in the Radiator Springs Racers attraction to create a colorful backdrop for the Haul-O-Ween celebration in Carsland.
